Best Practice Specialist

Candidates must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Travel school certificate and/or Travel college diploma
  • 3+ years travel experience with strong operational insight on day to day business activities within a travel management company
  • Proficiency with Apollo is a must
  • Proficiency with Sabre is an asset
  • Working knowledge of GDS script design standards
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong team player interacting effectively with co-workers
  • Rotating shift work between the hours of 8am and 8pm AST Monday- Friday

Responsibilities will include:

  • Analyze and Research Issue Notification and Enhancement Request forms for possible resolutions
  • Collaborate with Business Technology for solution of issues reported and enhancements requested
  • Prioritize Front and Mid office programming based on business priorities
  • Test changes to Front and Mid office applications to ensure they are programmed as requested
  • Arrange for and support test teams within Operations
  • Schedule and communicate Front and Mid office application releases
  • Answer and log emails regarding Operational processes
  • Assist non-Operational teams to understand the Operational processes where required
  • Review and verify communication from third party products to determine how the changes will impact the Operational teams
  • Assess Airline cancelations and emergency situations and provide Operations with reports of travellers impacted and guidance on process to follow to assist travellers
  • Analyze changes from GDS vendors to determine if any coding changes are required for the front or mid office applications
  • Contact GDS or third party application team to determine the cause outages
  • Communicate the outage to Operations and other affected teams
  • Liaise with the DRP team as needed to ensure management is aware of the teams affected and the cause
  • Create and maintain library of Policies and Procedures outlining HRG Best Practice
