Hogg Robinson Group (HRG) and the National Basketball Association (NBA) announced today that for the second consecutive year HRG will handle the travel and logistics requirements for NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTSTM.
The NBA’s pan-European tour, which includes matches in London - UK, Berlin - Germany, Barcelona - Spain, and Paris - France, relies on HRG’s market-leading sports travel management expertise to ensure its smooth running. Approximately 200 NBA staff members will be travelling from the United States around Europe and will be looked after by a dedicated HRG team.
After a successful partnership with the NBA last year, HRG will also once again serve as an official marketing partner for the NBA Europe Live game in London which takes place on 12 October 2008 at the O2 Arena.
Bradd Brunn, Director of Charter Services, HRG Sports, commented: “We always try to provide our clients with creative solutions that fully meet their requirements. NBA teams create a unique set of challenges that test that objective as severely as any client can, and for the past 20 years HRG has been answering the call and finding those creative solutions that make the team travel experience a positive one and those efforts help the NBA in making overseas appearances like this possible.”
“Coordinating travel and logistics seamlessly for a tour of this size is essential, and HRG continues to provide industry-leading performance,” said Sophie Goldschmidt, Vice President, Marketing Partnerships and Business Development, NBA Europe. “By coordinating NBA team’s travel needs and serving as a marketing partner of the game in London, HRG is playing a very important part in our efforts to bring the NBA experience to our fans in Europe.”
In 2007 HRG celebrated 10 years of managing the National Basketball Association’s air charter programme in the United States. HRG’s cornerstone relationship with the NBA and the players can be traced back over 20 years, and it has grown with the league to now include corporate travel, special events and international games like NBA Europe Live.
As part of 2008 NBA Europe Live which is presented by EA SPORTS, the Miami Heat, New Jersey Nets, New Orleans Hornets and Washington Wizards will play preseason games in Barcelona, Berlin, London and Paris in October. Following NBA Europe Live 2008, NBA teams will have played 48 games in 18 cities in Europe over the past two decades. Last year’s seven NBA Europe Live games drew more than 10.3 million viewers, 75,000 spectators, and were supported by 23 marketing partners.
