HRG rewards outstanding employee achievements

Friday May 13 2011

HRG UK, the world class corporate travel services company, held its annual ‘Thanks!’ Employee of the Year dinner at Guoman Tower Hotel in Central London last Friday (6 May 2011) to honour its outstanding employees.

The nominees and their partners attended the function along with HRG board directors, selected suppliers and members of the Thanks! Committee. The Thanks! Awards are run by employees for employees and are open to any member of staff who wishes to express appreciation for a colleague who has gone the extra mile for clients or colleagues alike.

First prize went to Team Leader, Kirsten Morten, who works for HRG UK in Glasgow. Kirsten was nominated twice for the award; firstly for her work with a challenging new account which involved creating a VIP service line into the team in Glasgow as well as creating a monthly account register to meet a client request. The second nomination was in recognition of Kirsten’s compassionate and sensitive manner and was from a colleague whom Kirsten supported through a particularly difficult and tragic personal situation. Kirsten was rewarded for her efforts with a pair of Club World tickets from BA, £700 from HRG, seven nights accommodation, seven days car hire from Avis and a Fortnum & Mason hamper.

Other winners on the night included Malcolm Beard, Operations Best Practise Manager at Farnborough who was nominated for work he did in connection with HRG POS delivery and training. Malcolm’s dedication was such that he undertook the preparation of the training courses outside work hours, including at weekends, whilst also dealing with a family illness.

Deputy Integrations Services Manager, Rachel Ball who is based in Farnborough was also a winner. Rachel took on responsibility as the Global Implementation Manager in November 2009 for one of HRG’s largest clients which saw her go above and beyond the call of duty and work up to 80 hours a week for more than a month to get the job done.

Commenting on the award winners, David Radcliffe, Chief Executive of HRG said: ‘I am delighted that Kirsten, Malcolm and Rachel have been recognised for their work at HRG. The Thanks! Award is just one of the ways in which HRG recognises the hard work and dedication of its people. It was created to ensure that staff who consistently excel are recognised. I would like to offer my personal congratulations to all the winners and nominees.”

The Thanks! Award scheme is part of HRG’s commitment to ensuring staff are motivated and engaged, and that their efforts are rewarded. In April, HRG launched its Employee Engagement Programme for 2011. The campaign includes a new recognition scheme to reward staff for their hard work, incentives to encourage staff innovation and a global interchange programme to give employees the opportunity to apply their skills to other parts of the business.
