HRG extends mobile access benefits for both traveller and client company

Tuesday February 8 2011

Hogg Robinson Group (HRG), the world class corporate travel services company, is extending mobile access for its corporate clients to both HRG Online and HRG i-Suite. The HRG mobile solution is unique in that it is completely integrated into its business platform and provides an additional channel for users to view and interact with existing information and processes.

Key benefits include:

  • Works with all app devices
  • Totally secure environment
  • Ability to incorporate corporate travel policies

Bill Brindle, Group Distribution and Technology Director, comments: “Extending mobile access to our clients is an ongoing part of our drive to enhance the whole traveller experience. We recognise that the mobile channel continues to grow in importance, as more smart-phones and tablets come to market. Our latest development simply enables clients to enjoy the flexibility and convenience of immediate access to information and services whilst they are on the move.”

HRG’s extended mobile access provides clients with access to both HRG i-Suite and HRG Online. In addition to a range of HRG information services including travel alerts and company news. Mobile users will also benefit from a hotel booking facility, flight and rail schedules, trip data - including past, present and future travel plans, profile and itinerary information within the parameters of their own corporate travel policies. All actions undertaken by a mobile user are captured and available to travel managers in line with HRG’s standard practice. In addition, total data security and integrity is maintained as a result of the closed environment developed by HRG.

Brindle continues: “We are very proud of our visionary technology strategy. We have made significant investments in our own technology, including the HRG Universal Super Platform (USP). So our ability to easily support a mobile channel simply leverages on our existing investment and platforms. We have built an infrastructure that is ‘channel agnostic’ and as future trading channels become viable commercially, and use by business organisations grows, we will be able to extend to include these new routes.”

HRG is working currently on a pilot programme with clients, initially trialling the new mobile service on ‘Windows Phone 7’ devices. Live release is scheduled to commence shortly and, in addition to most mobile web browsers, it will support all major mobile devices including iPhone/iPad and Blackberry plus platforms such as Android.
